STAR/PAL's Summer Baseball/Softball program is a grassroots outreach program designed to promote youth interest in baseball and softball, increase self-esteem and encourage kids to stay in school and off the streets. Thanks to the San Diego Padres for their generous support and the incredible partnership with San Diego Park & Recreation, for making this programa great success. Sign-ups begin in June and the 8-wk season lasts from July until the end of August. Kids can sign up at their local recreation center. Volunteers come from San Diego Police and Probation departments.
