TRI-N-HARDER-4-KIDS Indoor Triathlon

STAR/PAL, in partnership with the San Diego Police Department, invites you to participate in an exciting indoor triathlon! Event consists of a 10-minute pool swim, 20-minute cycle ride (stationary bike), and 15-minute treadmill run.  Distances for each category are combined to determine the winners. This event is a perfect warm-up to triathlon season, AND for beginners in the sport.

Event Date: Saturday, February 8, 2020
Location: Lawrence Family JCC La Jolla, CA
Time: First wave begins at 8:10am. Wave Schedule will be sent out to participants 1 week before the event

Thank you to all of the law enforcement agencies and community members that participated and contributed to the success of the 10th Annual TRI-N-HARDER-4-KIDS Indoor Triathlon!
The indoor triathlon brought together 78 competitors to swim, bike and run in support of STAR/PAL’s programs to serve San Diego’s underserved youth. A special thank you to San Diego Police Officers Association, San Diego County Chiefs & Sheriffs Association, Phokus Research Group and Kearny Pearson Ford for their continued support as our 2020 event sponsors. We also would like to give a special shout out to the Lawrence Family JCC for their generous hospitality. The event brought in $20,000 to support STAR/PAL youth programs and the SDPOA Law Enforcement Memorial Fund!

A special nod to this year’s triathlon winners:

Jason Deaner from Chula Vista Police Department is Best Overall Male Competitor with a total distance of 17.388 miles. Great job Jason!

Briley Stone from Chula Vista Police Department is Best Overall Female Competitor with a total distance of 15.098 miles. Great job Briley!

La Mesa Police Department, comprised of Chief Walt Vazquez, Daniel Garcia II, Jesse Neumeister, won Best Overall Relay Team with a total distance of 17.746 miles.  Great job La Mesa PD!

TRI-N-HARDER-4-KIDS Indoor Triathlon’s San Diego Public Safety Chief’s Challenge Trophy Winner- La Mesa PD! This trophy is awarded to the agency that fundraised the most money, bringing in $5,200!

TRI-N-HARDER-4-KIDS Indoor Triathlon’s San Diego Police Department Chief’s Challenge Trophy Winner- Northern Division!  This trophy is awarded to the SDPD division that fundraised the most money, bringing in $700!
