STAR/PAL, in partnership with the San Diego Police Department, invites you to participate in an exciting indoor triathlon! Event consists of a 10-minute pool swim, 20-minute cycle ride (stationary bike), and 15-minute treadmill run. Distances for each category are combined to determine the winners. This event is a perfect warm-up to triathlon season, AND for beginners in the sport.

Time: First wave begins at 8:10am. Wave Schedule will be sent out to participants 1 week before the event
Thank you to all of the law enforcement agencies and community members that participated and contributed to the success of this year’s TRI-N-HARDER-4-KIDS Indoor Triathlon!
The indoor triathlon brought together 75 competitors to swim, bike and run in support of STAR/PAL’s programs to serve San Diego’s underserved youth. A special thank you to DRS Restaurants, On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina, San Diego County Chief’s & Sheriff’s Association, and Kearny Pearson Ford for their continued support as our 2019 event sponsors. We also would like to give a special shout out to the Lawrence Family JCC for their generous hospitality and flexibility to accommodating us with the rain! The event brought in a total of $18,165 to support STAR/PAL youth programs and the SDPOA Law Enforcement Memorial Fund!

Matt Conlon from San Diego State University Police is Best Overall Male Competitor with a total distance of 15.408 miles. Great job Matt!
Sgt. Brigitta Belz from San Diego Police Department is Best Overall Female Competitor with a total distance of 14.828 miles. Great job Sgt. Belz!
La Mesa Police Department, comprised of Chief Walt Vazquez, Daniel Garcia II, Claudia Ortega, won Best Overall Relay Team with a total distance of 17.668 miles. Great job La Mesa PD!
TRI-N-HARDER-4-KIDS Indoor Triathlon’s San Diego Public Safety Chief’s Challenge Trophy Winner- U.S. Marshals Services! This trophy is awarded to the agency that fundraised the most money, bringing in $3,223!
